Daniel Santos is an Assistant Professor at the Engineering and Management Department of IST, and a researcher at CEGIST, of which he is also part of the Executive Committee. He holds a BSc in Applied Mathematics, a MSc in Statistics and Operations Research and a PhD in Optimization (in 2019), from FCUL. Daniel's research has been mainly in the areas of routing and health care, with focus on developing models and tools to support decision-making. He is co-author of several articles published in indexed international peer-review journals, and frequently collaborates with national and international researchers. Daniel currently supervises or co-supervises several PhD students in health care applications and optimization, namely home hospitalization, emergency medical services, blood supply chain, operating room planning and scheduling, and university timetabling, and has supervised more than 18 MSc students.
