WORKSHOP - Current state of the Circular Economy in Portugal

The Portuguese Environment Agency is developing, in collaboration with Instituto Superior Técnico - University of Lisbon, the new Action Plan for Circular Economy. This new Action Plan for Circular Economy is coordinated by CEGIST member Professor Ana Carvalho and Professors Fernanda Margarido e Paulo Ferrão, from IN+ Centre for Innovation, Technology and Policy Research. The Workshop Current state of the Circular Economy in Portugal, open to the public, will take place on November 4 2022, at 2 pm, in the Main Auditorium of the IST Congress Center, bringing together stakeholders from different areas to discuss the current state of Circular Economy in Portugal.

Circular Economy aims to create a chain in which everything is transformed, and nothing or little is wasted, maximising the economic value of materials, products and services, thus avoiding the consumption of new raw materials and eliminating waste. A maximising concept, Circular Economy is based on several «R», such as Reduction, Reuse, Recovery, Recycling... and Social Responsibility. Because the Environment is not just a problem for a country, but for the world, and the preservation of the Planet is a task for everyone and not just for a few. Circular Economy requires structural planning so that the steps we take today became a marathon won in the future.

MAY THE FUTURE BEGIN!
