Matilde Ribeiro Godinho is a PhD student in Engineering and Public Policy at Instituto Superior Técnico, where she has been enrolled since November 2025. She holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Instituto Superior Técnico and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa. In her Master’s dissertation, she explored the relationship between innovation, market power, and firm survival in the Portuguese economy, with a particular focus on how firms’ innovative behaviour influences their likelihood of survival. Her research interests focus on labour market dynamics, entrepreneurship, and firm productivity. Her current PhD research aims to examine Portuguese firms, the post-exit outcomes of entrepreneurs and the performance of subsequent ventures using longitudinal microdata.
