Miguel Vieira is an Assistant Professor in Industrial Engineering and Management at the Faculty of Engineering of Universidade Lusófona. He obtained his PhD in Leaders for Technical Industries (Engineering Design and Advanced Manufacturing focus area) by the Instituto Superior Técnico in partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology under the MIT Portugal Program. Miguel’s research has been focused in solving industrial real-world problems through the application of advanced modelling approaches, alongside with the leading collaboration in numerous industrial-based project. He has been the author of several publications addressing the challenges of optimization methods, simulation models and machine learning algorithms to solve supply chain, design, planning and scheduling problems of complex production decision systems.
