Alicia Soto-Robles is currently a doctoral candidate at the Centre for Management Studies at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) in the PhD Program of Environmental Engineering. She holds a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) and a MSc in Engineering (Urban, Energy and Environmental Planning) in Aalborg Universitet (AAU), Denmark. Her master's thesis focused on urban living labs and ICTs in contexts of social distancing. She has gained field experience through internships with CASCOLAND collective in Amsterdam, focusing on sustainable art, architecture, and urbanism at neighborhood levels. Alicia is working on the thesis "Public Sector Organizations towards Sustainability Transitions: Innovation for Institutional Change," under the supervision of Margarida B. Monteiro and Tânia Pereira Ramos. Currently, as part of her research, she is conducting stays at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) with the Group of Ecological Humanities (GHECO). Her research interests include institutional and social changes in territorial planning towards sustainable transitions, environmental policies, biodiversity, and the intersection between nature and culture. She employs mixed qualitative and quantitative methods, incorporating natural language processing and text mining techniques. Alicia has presented her work at various international conferences, including ICTA UAB and IST 2023.
