Ana Flávia is a PhD candidate in Engineering and Management at the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon, and holds a doctoral fellowship in Centro de Estudos de Gestão do Instituto Superior Técnico (CEGIST). She holds a BSc in Production Engineering (UFCG) and an MSc in Production Engineering (UFRN). During her Masters, she worked on the prioritisation of patients eligible for beds in the Adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU) from the perspective of Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA), while doing applied research at the Secretaria do Estado do Rio Grande do Norte. In February 2022, she enrolled in the PhD programme in Engineering and Management at IST. Her PhD is focused in exploring how Multicriteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) can support the early design of medical devices. Ana Flávia is supervised by Professor Ana Vieira, from the Engineering and Management Department at IST, and Professor Gilberto Montibeller, from Loughborough University. The title of her thesis is "Supporting the early design of medical devices within the scope of multicriteria decision analysis".
