Muhammad Tanveer Ul Islam is a researcher at the Centre for Management Studies in Instituto Superior Técnico (IST). He received his Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering in Oct 2017 from Beihang University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (BUAA) Beijing, China. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Pakistan. After graduating he joined a public sector organization in his home country Pakistan. He was involved in various field projects related to services in Aerospace industry. In September 2023, he enrolled in the doctorate program in Engineering and Management at IST. His research area is Harnessing analytics and operations research to transform public services with primary focus on optimization and efficiency measurement by DEA and machine learning tools. He is supervised by Assistant Professor Miguel Alves Pereira.
