Linda Canales Bustos is a PhD student in Engineering and Management at the Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon. She holds a fellowship from the Agency of Research ANID from the Government of Chile. She received her MSc degree in Operations Management in 2016 (Utalca), and she worked in the decarbonization of the supply chain network of the mining industry using multiobjective optimization. She participated in a project on mining sustainability from the Technological Institute of the Brazilian mining company VALE S.A. and the UFOF University. She also participated as a research assistant in a project for Combinatorial Optimization Problems. As a result, she published 3 papers in scientific journals (Int. J. Prod. Econ., J. Clean. Prod. , and Socio-Econ. Plan. Sci.). She has taught bachelor courses for engineering related to Operations Research and Operations Management, guiding projects, and thesis. Her research field is related to the energy transition in the supply chain of the mining industry using Operations Research methods. Her PhD thesis is supervised by Ana Póvoa and the project’s main objective is to analyse the opportunities and challenges for the energy transition in the supply chain of the mining industry to propose and develop sustainable and resilient strategies using operations research methods.
