António is an International Consultant, Professor and Researcher that has been working in the Foresight/Scenarios, Strategy and Innovation fields for the past 20 years with different responsibilities. He is the Founder and CEO of ALVA R&C, a consulting company specialized in Foresight, Scenario Planning, Strategy and Innovation, and a Full Member of APF - Association of Professional Futurists. He trained +5000 managers and C-level executives and worked as a consultant/mentor with +100 organizations. ALVA R&C is a certified training partner of the Global Innovation Management Institute (GIMI) and developed the Certification in Future Foresight (both at the individual and organisational levels).
António is Adjunct Associate Professor at Nova School of Business and Economics (Univ. Nova Lisboa) (course: "Strategic Foresight and Scenario Planning"), and Researcher at CEG-IST (Univ. Lisboa) and IHC (FCSH, Univ. Nova Lisboa).
Previously Adjunct Associate Professor at IST - Instituto Superior Técnico ("Scenario Analysis") and ISEG - Lisbon School of Economics & Management (Honourable Mention Award 2017/2018- "Excellent Professor"; course "Competitive Intelligence"​), Director of the Department of Strategies and Economic Analysis of the Portuguese Environment Agency, Rapporteur for the Portuguese Green Growth Commitment, Director of the Department of Innovation and Strategic Sectors of the Lisbon City Council, and Director of the Strategic Foresight Unit of the Portuguese Department of Foresight and Planning.
He has multiple contributions to books and publications in leading international journals such as Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Foresight, The International Journal of Management Science and International Journal for Equity in Health.
