Operations, Logistics and Supply Chain Management (OpLog) branch of CEGIST conducts multidisciplinary research driven by the challenges faced in industry and services organizations regarding the management of their operations, logistics and overall supply chain. Our research focuses on advancing the integrated knowledge of such disciplines, spanning from the strategic to operational decision levels, grounded in conceptual and analytical foundations of Systems Engineering. We contribute to strengthen the theoretical foundations necessary for supporting sound decision making, that is further applied to improve industrial practice. Our research outcomes consist in developing decision support products and processes that foster effectiveness and efficiency, assisting informed and systematic decision making. Our applied research targets sectors such as (but not limited to) agri-food, health, manufacturing, process based industries, energy, transportation, retail, oil and gas, waste management and social services. We develop national and international collaborative research.
